Vaginal myomectomy is preferred in pedunculated cervical fibroids.
Indications
Alterations in the menstrual cycle.

Abnormal uterine bleeding.
Sterility and Infertility.
Dispareunia.
The method used depends on the location and size of the fibroids.
In laparotomy, an incision (a cut in the skin) is made in the abdomen, and the fibroids are removed through it.
In laparoscopy, a laparoscope is used to see inside the pelvis. Other instruments are also inserted through another small incision to remove the fibroids.
Hysteroscopy can be used to remove fibroids that protrude into the uterine cavity. A resectoscope is inserted through the hysteroscope. The resectoscope destroys the fibroids with electricity or a laser beam.
