Egg Donation
Egg donation is a variant of IVF treatment in which the eggs that are fertilized are from an anonymous or known donor. The eggs are obtained through controlled ovarian stimulation and follicular aspiration, then fertilized with the male’s sperm to form embryos that will be transferred to the uterus of the woman who wants to get pregnant (recipient).
The egg donation program is carried out under strict control and selection of donors, in accordance with international standards. The information obtained from each donor is analyzed and reviewed, including a complete personal and family medical history, clinical and genetic laboratory studies.
The only donor’s information provided to the recipient patient is the physical characteristics of the donor, blood group and age.
It is an ideal treatment for women who for various reasons cannot obtain their own eggs.
