Semen Freezing

Sperm freezing is a simple process in which we freeze a semen sample after capacitating it, will remain its capabilities and characteristics so can be used in future treatments.

Freezing is performed in patients who are go through radiotherapy or chemotherapy, which in some cases can cause lifelong sterility. So the man can ensure a future offspring once his disease is through. The samples can be cryopreserved for an indefinite period of time without suffering any damage.

Freezing is also performed in patients who had vasectomies done. If in the future they decide to have offspring, a vasovasostomy (reestablishment of the vas deferens) wouldn’t be necessary, which doesn’t ensure the recovery of fertility.

The semen sample is frozen in small pills, which allows us to perform more than one cycle of Assisted Reproduction with a small amount of sample.
